This reveals that Viola believes that she has to be a male in order to survive without her brother. Internal Conflict: With the help of the sea captain, she dresses up as a boy naming herself Cesario and works for Duke Orsino.This conflict fits the plot because it introduces Viola’s bond with her brother, and it reveals how she is not optimistic that he might have survived (Shakespeare 7). She feels lost and lonely because her brother was her only family. Internal Conflict: She mourns the loss of her twin brother, Sebastian, because she believes that he drowned during the accident.
